Why I Write Writing…

I write because it helps me articulate my thoughts and feelings on important subjects in an accurate and succinct way. When speaking, thoughts can easily become jumbled. Writing allows one to express their feelings in a creative manner that is exactly what they meant. I write because it helps reflect on experiences I have had and process them. Writing also helps me explain my thoughts in structured formats such as essays and persuasive papers for school.

Some of my favorite writing is poems because they don’t have to necessarily be structured and the writing is much more free and interpretive than essay writing. Poems can be as short or long as the writer wants and there is the aspect of physical structure and how it appears for poem format. Overall I write to express myself and the more creative I can be the more I enjoy the writing process.
