Write now, I’m being forced to write in a class taught by Mike Gwaltney. Gwaltney wants the class to write because it is national writing day. So, I shall write about option three ‘why I write’ for the next fifteen or so minutes. I write mainly as a form of communication, I’m a big fan of texting, Facebook messaging, and emailing. I don’t keep a journal with all my thoughts because I think they are kind of pointless and I only write essays and story type things when it is assigned. Like this piece, Gwaltney wants us to write about stuff and then he said, “assume that it’s a public document…a blog.”
However, there are a lot of people who see writing as something super powerful and deep. I agree with that to a certain degree, I feel like the words are powerful and it can sometimes be portrayed through writing. This is not the case for me; I don’t have the fluidity in my writing like some people.

You’re right Grace, you probably write more than most people did in the past, with all the text-based forms of communication you use. Certainly, when I was in high school, we spent our time communicating on the phone, and composition was less a concern. Writing is more important than ever before!
